Servings: 4 people
- 3/4 cup All Purpose Flour
- 200 grams Strawberries, halved
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 3/4 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. Keep it aside.
Combine the butter and 1/2 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl until well combined.
Add milk and vanilla essence and mix until just combined.
Now add the flour mixture and gently mix until the batter shows no trace of flour.
Quickly pour the batter into a greased cake tin and arrange the halved strawberries on top of the batter.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the strawberries and bake in the preheated oven.
Bake at 180 degrees C for about 30 - 35 minutes or till a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Serve as a dessert or tea time snack.
