Red Hots – These are tiny, sweet, spicy and cinnamon flavored candies that are bright red in color. These are known for their intense cinnamon flavor. Adds a bright red color and cinnamon flavor to the apples. You can use any similar candies in this recipe.
Apples – I have used granny smith apples as they have a good balance of sweetness and tartness. The best apples for making red hot apples are ones that hold their shape well during cooking. Granny smith, honeycrisp, or golden delicious can be used.
Sugar – You can add more or less sugar according to your taste preference.
Serve as a side dish alongside savory main dishes.
It can also be served as a dessert or as a complement to breakfast dishes like pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, french toast, crepes or cereal.

Step by step instructions:
Combine cinnamon candies, water and sugar in a pan.
Heat over a medium flame and mix until the candies and sugar dissolve completely.

- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Large Granny Smith Apples
