It is one of the versatile seasonings and can be used in variety of dishes like cakes, cookies, muffins and latte.

Pumpkin spice mix usually made with 4-5 ingredients. Allspice is totally optional but I would recommend including it. Make sure the ground spices are fresh and good quality. If they don’t have any scent, do not use them. The below spices are all you need to make your own pumpkin pie spice at home.

    Cinnamon

    Ginger

    Nutmeg

    Cloves

    Allspice

    Can I double the recipe?

Absolutely! If you are making this in bulk for gifting, it can be easily doubled. I would recommend using a blender to ensure even mixing.

If you want to make it fresh every time, cut the recipe in half.

    How to use pumpkin spice?

Add this homemade spice blend to your coffee, cakes, breads, cookies, muffins, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, chia puddings, yogurt and pies. The options are endless.

If you are making a fall dish that calls for pumpkin spice mix, you can use the same quantity of this homemade pumpkin spice blend.

    Storage suggestions:

Transfer the leftover pumpkin spice to an airtight container or jar and store it in a dry place like a kitchen cupboard or drawer. It can be stored for a year.

    Step by step instructions:

Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Mix everything using a whisk or spoon until well combined.
