Paal Rava Kesari - Semolina Milk Halwa Recipe with Step by Step Photos

Suji Ka Halwa is a simple and delicious Indian dessert. I have already posted different halwa recipes with semolina like apple sheera, rava kesari and coconut kesari. And today's recipe is another variation with milk. This is the traditional way of making Milk Kesari. Sooji Aur Doodh Ka Halwa / Semolina and Milk Halwa Recipe: 
Preparation & Cooking Time : 20 mins       
Serves: 4 persons 

Ingredients :

Semolina : 1/2 cup
Milk : 2 cups (boiled and cooled)
Sugar: 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder: 1/2 tsp
Ghee: 3 tbsp
Cashews and Raisins
Food Color


1. Heat a tablespoon of ghee and fry the cashews until light brown color. Then add the raisins and fry until it plumps up. Take them out of the ghee and set aside.

2. In the same pan, add the semolina and fry continuously on a medium flame till they change color to light golden. 

3. Add the milk to the roasted semolina and mix well. Let it cook for 3 - 4 minutes. 

4. After the semolina mixture gets cooked, add the sugar, cardamom powder and food color and mix well till it dissolves. 

5. Add the remaining ghee and cook until the mixture thickens. 

6. Finally add the roasted nuts and mix well. Remove from the flame and serve.
