    Godhuma Rava Halwa or Wheat Rava Kesari is a simple and quick Halwa recipe made with wheat rava / broken wheat. You can make this halwa as a dessert or as a naivedyam during festivals like Varalakshmi Vratham, Ugadi, Navratri and Ugadi.

    Ingredients
      

    • ½ cup Broken Wheat / Wheat Rava
    • ½ cup Sugar
    • ¼ cup Ghee (clarified butter)
    • 1.5 cups Water
    • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
    • 15 Cashews or as needed
    • 15 Raisins or as needed
    Prevent your screen from going dark

    Instructions
     

    • Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a heavy bottomed pan. Add and fry the cashews until they are light brown color. Then add the raisins and fry until they plump up. Remove them from the ghee and set aside.
    • In the same ghee, add the wheat rava and stir continuously on medium – low flame until it becomes light golden brown color. 
    • Now add 1.5 cups of boiling water and remaining ghee and combine.
    • Cover and cook the mixture over a low flame for few minutes or until the wheat rava gets cooked.
    • When it is cooked, add the sugar and cardamom and combine well.
    • When the mixture thickens, add the fried nuts and mix everything.
    • Turn off the flame and serve warm or cold!

    How to Make Godhumai Rava Kesari Recipe with Step by Step Photos:

    • Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a heavy bottomed pan. Add and fry the cashews until they are light brown color. Then add the raisins and fry until they plump up. Remove them from the ghee and set aside.

      Hi Hari chandana garu….. kesar looks yummy….. is adding boiling water reason for nonsticky kesar? my rava kesar is always sticky and becomes hard 1hr after cooking.

        Hello Neelima Garu, Thank you very much. Use right amount of water and ghee to make non sticky kesari. And the rava has to be cooked well otherwise it will become hard. Did you add the sugar to the uncooked rava?
