What are chocolate pretzel nests?
Chocolate pretzel easter nests are one of the easy and fun treats made with dark chocolate, pretzel sticks and mini chocolate eggs. Easter nests are made by mixing broken pretzel sticks with melted chocolate and then shaping the mixture into nest shapes. Once the chocolate has set, the nests are topped with cadbury mini eggs.
The balance of the salty pretzel with the rich chocolate and the crunchy mini easter eggs makes them totally irresistible. These no-bake treats are popular during Easter, where they are designed to resemble bird nests and are usually topped with candy eggs or chocolate eggs to match the theme.
Pretzel nests are very similar to the Cornflakes Chocolate Nests, where cornflakes are used instead of pretzels. Unlike baked desserts, these require no oven and come together quickly, which makes them perfect for last-minute holiday prep.

How to Make Pretzel Easter Nests

Break the pretzel sticks or twists into small pieces. Set them aside.
Line a muffin pan with paper liners and keep it aside.
Add the chopped chocolate or chips to a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.

Melt gently until nice and smooth, stirring in between to avoid overheating.

Add the pretzel pieces to the melted mixture.

Mix until all the pretzel pieces are well coated with chocolate.

Spoon the mixture into the lined muffin tray. Using the back of the spoon, gently shape each portion into a small nest by creating a slight indentation in the center.

Place mini eggs or candy eggs in the center of each nest while the chocolate is still wet. If you want to decorate them with sprinkles, add them at this stage.

Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until they are set. Once they are firm, remove from the tray and serve.

Tips & Notes:
- Use fresh and high-quality ingredients for the best results.
- Don't crush pretzels into too fine or too large. Break them into even and small sized pieces.
- Use a double boiler or microwave for melting chocolate. Melt it carefully to avoid burning.
- Once the chocolate is melted, quickly mix the pretzel pieces and shape the nests before the chocolate begins to set.
- Make sure to coat the pretzels evenly with the melted chocolate. If you feel the melted chocolate mix is not enough, melt some more and mix it with pretzels. So that each nest holds its shape well.
- Make sure you are using a muffin tin or silicone molds to get a neat nest shape. Also, use paper cases or pastel-colored liners for better presentation. If you don't want to use liners, use a cooking spray. This makes cleanup easy and helps prevent the nests from sticking.
- Let the chocolate egg nests set in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes to set properly. This will help the nests hold their shape.
