    Mirapakaya Bajji ~ Green Chilli Fritters Recipe

    Mirapakaya Bajjilu / Mirchi Bajji /Green Chilli Fritters Recipe:

    Preparation & Cooking Time : 20 -25 mins

    Serves: 3 persons

    Ingredients :

    Large Green Chillies : 10
    Besan : 1 cup
    Rice Flour : ¼ cup
    Cooking Soda : ¼ tsp
    Turmeric Powder: ¼ tsp
    Salt to taste
    Oil for deep frying

    For Stuffing:


    Tamarind Pulp: 2 tbsp
    Besan : 2 tbsp
    Ajwain Seeds / Powdered Ajwain: 1 tsp
    Salt to taste

    Method:

    1. Combine
    all the stuffing ingredients in a bowl and make into a smooth paste.
    Keep it aside.

    2. Wash the chillies and dry them. Slit the chillies
    lengthwise and remove the seeds.

    3. Fill the each chilli with prepared
    stuffing mixture and set aside.

    4. In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea
    flour, rice flour, cooking soda, turmeric and salt.

    5. Slowly add water and
    mix it to a thick consistency.

    6. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.

    7. Dip
    the each chilli into the batter and slide them onto edge of the batter
    bowl to expose the side of chilli.

    8. Then slowly drop them into hot oil.
    Deep fry them on a medium flame until golden brown color.

    9. Serve
    immediately with sliced onions and lemon juice.

      Hi Chandana, Honestly I had this many times in Indian restaurant here in KL and mostly in parties, but never new that it is called Mirapakaya Bajjilu or Mirchi Bajji 🙂 Very nice quick recipe.
